2026 GMMG Guidelines for annual scholarship
The Georgia Mountains Master Gardeners may award an annual scholarship each year to one or more Lumpkin/Dawson County High School graduating senior who plan to pursue a Bachelor's degree or Technical Certification at a public or private college, university or technical school. The degree must include a major in the sciences (biology, chemistry, botany, physics) or agriculture and environmental sciences (entomology, horticulture, landscape design, or plant pathology, etc).
All seniors interested should apply here.
All applicants must:

Have a Google/gmail account in order to open the application.

Complete the application along with a cop of the applicant's transcripts.

Write a 500 word essay explaining the applicatant's past community service and career plans after college or technical school graduation citing any experiences that have led them to this degree plan.
Deadline to submit applications is April 1, 2026.
The GMMG Scholarship Committee shall consider the following guidelines in the selection process:

GPA
-
Class Rank
-
Level of classes taken (standard curriculum or Advance Placement Honors courses)
-
Extra-curricular activities such as clubs, or leadership positions in organizations/teams
-
4-H and/or FFA involvement
-
Completion of essay with specifics on community service and career plans for the degree or technical certification siting any experiences that have led them to this degree plan
