Winter Sowing
January 22, 2026 10:00 A.M. Lumpkin County Parks and Recreation Building, 365 Riley Road
President, Judy McHan is excited to guide us through a winter sowing workshop! We will discover the secrets of planting seeds in the winter to get our transplants ready for a springtime burst of growth. The workshop is all about getting your hands dirty, so you will get to prepare your own winter-sown seeds and learn the essential steps to help them thrive. Plus, it's a fantastic opportunity to start sowing native seeds that we will be selling at our Native Plant Sale in 2026.
Southeastern Pollinator Census - "How To"
May 27, 2026 (Wednesday) 10:00 A.M Lumpkin County Parks and Recreation Building, 365 Riley Road
Becky Griffen, the National and Georgia Census Project Coordinator, is joining us for this special workshop! She will share the project's history, its achievements, and how other Master Gardener chapters are involved. We will also chat about how to get the Georgia Mountains Master Gardeners on board for the count in August. We will figure out where to hold the count, create teams, and brainstorm ways to help make this important work a success.
